Our Story
In February 1955, Christian services began in Toppenish, Washington and something powerful was started.
What started as a vision on the heart of Brother Angel Roque, then pastor in Wapato, became a movement. He saw a need beyond his own city and stepped out in faith to bring the message of Jesus to surrounding communities.
Just weeks later, on March 20, 1955, that vision took shape. A special opening service was held for what would become known as Iglesia Del Valle. Brother Felipe Rico was appointed to lead, becoming the first Pastor and laying the foundation for what God would continue to build.
A Growing Vision
Today, Iglesia Del Valle stands as a reflection of decades of faith, sacrifice, and obedience.
Under the leadership of Reverend Enedeo Garza, the church has experienced a renewed sense of purpose and growth. What began as a vision years ago has been reignited and expanded, bringing fresh direction to our ministries and community impact.
There was a season where faith required flexibility. For three years, our congregation gathered in the historic Liberty Theater in our city, believing for more while making the most of what we had. During that time, the church was actively seeking a permanent space, something that would allow us to grow and reach more people.
Vision XXI — A Dream Realized
In the year 2000, that prayer became reality.
God opened the door for Iglesia Del Valle to acquire 22 acres of land on Highway 97 in Toppenish. This milestone marked the beginning of what we now call Vision XXI, a vision that God had given long before, but one that would come to life in the 21st century.
Vision XXI represents more than land or buildings, it represents impact.
Through this vision, the church expanded beyond its walls to serve the community in meaningful ways. One of the first initiatives was the development of a community center, designed to equip young people with computer skills while providing a safe, Christ-centered environment where they could grow and thrive.
Expanding Our Reach
In 2003, God continued to provide.
We were blessed to acquire a church facility along with a childcare center capable of serving up to 100 children. This has opened doors not only to minister to the next generation, but also to build lasting relationships with families throughout our community.
Looking Ahead
Iglesia Del Valle is built on the faith of those who came before us and we are living in the harvest of seeds they planted.
Today, we remain committed to the vision God has entrusted to us. We believe in using every resource available to serve people, strengthen families, and share the hope of Jesus.
And with God’s help, the best is still ahead.
